The faculty of nursing Sciences was established in 2002 as part of Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and named as school of nursing, 8 patches were graduated and awarded bachelor degree and diploma degree. In 2013, the Senate of the University of Al-Neelain approved the upgrading of the School of Nursing to the Faculty of Nursing Sciences and become independent. - The Faculty of Nursing Sciences offers a program of study leading to the degree of General Bachelor’s, Master, and PHD. - The Faculty studies prepare future leaders to respond to the growing complexity of health care at all level. It provides a student centered professional education and it based its program from its programs from its mission and values.
The vision of faculty of nursing science is to adopt a vital educational program copping with the continuous advancement in knowledge, skills and attitude to graduate a nurse that has the ability to compete nationally and internationally.It is the vision of the Faculty to contribute to national socio- economic development through promotion of services, education and manpower development.“Through Knowledge, Making Health” Also the ideals of integrity, excellence and relevance were high on our list.
The mission of faculty of nursing is to be a leader in providing compassionate, Quality care focusing on the unique needs of patients and their families in both hospitals and community, services based on our strong commitments to practice, education, research, innovation, and collaboration. This mission center on quality management of services in education health care, research & socio-cultural development. The mission based on the philosophy of nursing which is an art and a science dedicated to improving the physical and psychological well-being of patients.

Academic Degrees:
1. The Faculty of Nursing Sciences offers a general bachelor's degree (4 years, 8 semesters) in Nursing Sciences
2. Master Program in Nursing Science by courses (3 semesters + 2 semesters research) in the following specialties:
1- Master in Medical Surgical Nursing.
2- Master in obstetric and gynecological Nursing.
3- Master in Community Health Nursing.
4- Master in pediatric Nursing.
3. PhD Program in Nursing Science by courses and research in the following fields:
